Mercury is a central repository for sharing news and events at Georgia Tech. It can be used to publish news and events to any campus website but cannot be used with websites hosted outside our campus network. The basic concept for using Mercury is that a campus unit will have a news and events group created on the Mercury server (https://hg.gatech.edu/).

By default, your new Drupal 9 site will already have two feeds (News feed and Events feed), pre-configured on your site.  All you have to do is go in and change the Feed ID to match the corresponding news and/or events Feed ID you have for your group on Mercury.

Mercury - Step 1

To change the Feed ID, go to Structure -> Mercury Importers -> Mercury Importers

Mercury - Step 2

Click Edit to change the Feed ID.

Mercury - Step 3

Type in the Feed ID number of your corresponding News or Event Feed ID on Mercury. Click Save at the bottom.

Mercury - Step 4

That should take you back to the Mercury Importers page.  Under the drop-down on the right-hand side select, Import / Update Content.

This will pull the latest associated news/event content from Mercury (hg.gatech.edu). You can also post news and events to your site without going through Mercury, however that content will only be viewable through your site and would not be available for display on other sites on campus.  This is covered in more detail in the video tutorial below.
